The water that flows through our pipes might be hard water which leaves a film of dissolved calcium and magnesium on your plumbing. To solve this problem, salt water softeners can be installed to the main pipe that allows water to flow into the house. Salt water softeners do exactly what their name implies; they \’soften\’ the water by removing the dissolved minerals and other pollutants that are in the water. In this way, you will feel safer with the water that\’s coming into your house or building. It will be better for a safe and healthy environment. Also, there shouldn\’t be any worry when you are using the water from the pipes or taps to boil for your tea or other things. It might also help to learn that you can shower safely, that is with clean water by not worrying about why the water is brown instead of its clean color. You will be able to water your plants without them dying on you or just not living well.
- Before the installation process, turn off your main water supply and drain all the water out of the pipes by turning on the faucets at the highest and lowest point of the house. This will make the installation process easier to work with.
- Next, switch off the valve at your water heater as well as the power to the heater. Wait for at least an hour before proceeding to the next step or you might risk scalding yourself as the pipes are still hot.
- After that, connect your water softener to your plumbing. The water softener is essentially just a by-pass in the pipes near where the water enters your home. You will need two pipe wrenches to loosen and remove the union on the water line.
- Your salt water softener is now installed. However, for it to work, you will have to follow the instructions that come together with the respective system to make sure it is functioning.
After these processes have been taken, you should be receiving better and cleaner water in your house or building.
