Bats can be problematic pests that bring illness and diseases into a house. However, extermination is not an option as there are environmental laws to protect bats. Most homeowners with bats problem would turn into bat-repelling methods to deter bats from their home. Once the bats have been removed from your house or a building, it is crucial to cover the potential entry points for the bats. If you are aware on the environmental and prefer natural homemade bat repellent, here are the steps on how to make a homemade bat repellant.
You will need:
- Sponto 221.
- Sassafras oil.
- Spoon.
- Bird net.
- Water.
- Mustard oil.
- Bowl.

Steps:
- First, check up your state laws regarding to bat-control methods. It is important to determine what state allows for bat-control before making any repellent as some areas are often considered bats as protected species.
- If your state laws allowed, proceed by mixing water, mustard oil, sassafras oil and Sponto 221 in a bowl. Add 5 tablespoons of Sponto 221, mustard oil and sassafras oil with 10 cups of water to make the bat repellent.
- Next, place the repellent in your attics or area where the bats have been congregated. Be careful when placing the repellent down. In order to prevent potential diseases, cover up completely prior to the repellent placing. Make sure to cover your mouth, nose and body too.
- Finally, scatter bird nets up around the entrance that the bats usually use when they leave. These nests will help to deter the bats from coming into the house again.
